We’re just past the one third mark of the lecture phase of this DTS that we’re leading. It’s gone suprisingly fast so far. We are really pleased with how it has been going, and what God has been doing in the lives of all of students.
Since our last update we had a week on Justice, with one of our local staff, who runs a training school for those who want to work with children at risk. This past week, the two of us taught on worship for a couple of days, before sending the students out on an outdoor adventure called Niko.
Niko is Greek for overcome. The students are challenged physically, emotionally, and interpersonally on this 4 day, 3 night exercise. They’ll come home Friday, tired and smelly, but with a much deeper sense of team, and a better understanding of how God can help them when they are at their limits.
On Friday evening we’ll get together, after everyone has much needed showers, and a good long nap, for a special dinner, and a chance to process the ordeal. The two of us are not along for the trip, as it’s not exactly “family friendly”. Nevertheless we’re excited to hear the students’ accounts of their time in the mountains upon their return. I’m sure I’ll get some good pics for a future post.
